The goal of Big Rapids High School Band Parents Association is to conduct fundraising activities which will provide funds needed to enhance the music education experience of students in the instrumental music program.
2008 State Band Festival Results
Symphonic Wind Ensemble received straight Division I ratings earning an overall score of Division I.
Concert Band received three Division II ratings in concert performance and a Division III rating in sight reading earning an overall score of Division II.
2008 District Band Festival
Congratulations go out to BRHS Concert Band and BRHS Wind Symphony on receiving all Division I ratings at District Band Festival last March.
2008 State Solo and Ensemble Festival
State Solo and Ensemble Festival was held at Central Michigan University in March. Twenty-two out of twenty-three soloists/ensembles received Division I ratings from their judges.
Seven soloists/ensembles from Big Rapids High School were nominated to perform at Youth Arts Festival. Those earning nominations include:
Marie Williams, Steven Mekaru, Zack Potter, Saxophone Quartet, Brass Quintet, Chamber Brass Ensemble, and Chamber Percussion Ensemble.
